About the design

The famous KAISER idell lamp is characterized by Christian Dell's ability to create elegant designs using essential elements of Modernism: geometric forms. Today, KAISER idell is widely recognized as a symbol of noble Bauhaus design, exquisite material selection, and precise engineering. Shortly after its launch in 1936, the 6631-T Luxus table lamp became the flagship model of the KAISER idell series, exemplifying Dell's graceful and understated style.

About the designer

Christian Dell was born in Offenbach am Main, Hesse. He completed his studies in silversmithing at the academy in 1911 and, between 1912 and 1913, studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts in Weimar. From 1922 to 1925, he worked as head of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar, where he was responsible for a highly innovative and pioneering design style.
