The glass features subtle hues—cool light blue, distinctive Georgia green, and a delicate transparency—derived from the natural colors of the original bottles, such as milk bottles, ramune bottles, and soda bottles. No additional coloring is applied, allowing the inherent beauty of the glass to shine through. New color variations, cobalt blue and olive green, are created from discarded sake bottles sourced from a local sake brewery within the same prefecture. The smooth transparency of the glass is truly stunning, enhanced by tiny bubble-like formations reminiscent of those found in cider. Transforming Waste Bottles into New Creations The material used comes from discarded glass bottles, which require careful preparation before they can be repurposed. The milk bottles are sourced from local farms, while the ramune and cola bottles are collected from beverage manufacturers in the Kyushu area. The bottles undergo a meticulous process where they are stripped of their labels, thoroughly cleaned, dried, and crushed into small fragments. Only after several processing steps is the glass suitable for manufacturing. Our goal is to ensure that no resources are wasted, while making everyday life as environmentally friendly as possible.
