Description

The PENCO Foolscap Notebook B6 is modelled on the classic university notebook: a paper cover with a black spine and good-quality writing paper with discreet 7 mm ruling. The name comes from foolscap, a writing paper used in Europe in the 16th century, often bearing a fool's cap watermark.

It is made by family businesses in Tokyo: one family prints, another trims and a third binds. The paper absorbs ink well, without blotting, and takes any writing instrument, including a fountain pen.

  • Pages: 30 sheets (60 pages), with index pages
  • Binding: Stapled
  • Weight: 68 g
  • Material: Paper

About the brand

Everyday stationery, with memories

PENCO was born in 1999 in Fukuoka, Japan, as HIGHTIDE's main brand. It started with a single American ballpoint pen, which gave it its name: Penco, from Pen Company.

It combines American vintage spirit with European design in practical objects with a nostalgic touch: clips, clipboards, rulers, scissors and pencils for the desk.

Testimonials

  • I was very happy to see Araujo & Sobrinho reopened, with materials of great quality. Walking into the shop again brought back many memories of my student days. It is a landmark and deserves to carry on this fine tradition.

  • On Largo de São Domingos, Araujo & Sobrinho is still a magical world. The old cabinets, the papers and canvases, and the same warm welcome as always take us back to times gone by. It is a house that keeps the memory of the city of Porto.
