About the design

About the designer

Christian Dell was born in Offenbach am Main, Hesse. He completed his studies in silversmithing at the academy in 1911 and, between 1912 and 1913, studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts in Weimar. From 1922 to 1925, he worked as head of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar, where he was responsible for a highly innovative and pioneering design style, becoming a central figure in defining modern industrial aesthetics.
