Kunisawa's sumi-zome fabric is carefully woven on a shuttle loom that does not stress the threads, ensuring superior structure and preserving the integrity of the fibers. The high-density weave makes the fabric extremely durable, allowing you to enjoy the natural texture and color of the material over the years, as it ages with elegance and personality.

For the finish, the ancestral Japanese technique known as "sumi-zome" is used, which employs binchotan charcoal to dye the fabric. This method gives an impressive texture, visually similar to that of Japanese washi paper, while maintaining a soft surface to the touch due to the special dyeing process. Sumi-zome is one of the prestigious traditional techniques recorded in the anthology "One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets," compiled in the Kamakura era almost 750 years ago, bringing a unique historical and cultural richness to each piece.
