About the brand

Japanese paper since 1950

MIDORI was founded in 1950 in Japan, making letter paper, notebooks and sketchbooks. The name means green, like a plant opening its leaves.

Since 1952 diaries have been one of the house's most important lines. In the 1960s it created MD paper, designed from the start for writing.

Testimonials

  • I was very happy to see Araujo & Sobrinho reopened, with materials of great quality. Walking into the shop again brought back many memories of my student days. It is a landmark and deserves to carry on this fine tradition.

  • On Largo de São Domingos, Araujo & Sobrinho is still a magical world. The old cabinets, the papers and canvases, and the same warm welcome as always take us back to times gone by. It is a house that keeps the memory of the city of Porto.
