YAKIHAKU PEN – Extraordinary "Flat Leaf" Craftsmanship YSTUDIO collaborates with Rakugei in Japan, a traditional leaf art studio, for this 2018 release. Mr. Kohei Murata, third-generation owner and master of the family's flat leaf technique, began learning from his father at university and has won numerous craft awards. Flat leaf was originally a special weaving method for Japanese kimono and is now being applied to new fields. In this collaboration, Mr. Murata uses the rare "Unryu" ("dragon in the clouds") leaf, delicately applying it to the YSTUDIO pen; the process reveals a unique vulcanized silver tone, like a dragon soaring through the clouds. The YAKIHAKU PEN embodies classic Japanese aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship in the YSTUDIO style.
