Description

The YAKIHAKU PEN was born in 2018 from a collaboration between YSTUDIO and Rakugei, a traditional Japanese foil art studio. The master craftsman Kohei Murata applied the rare "Unryu" foil, "dragon in the clouds", to the pen, which gives the black-lacquered brass a unique silvery tone.

It is a portable brass ballpoint pen with a hexagonal body, well balanced in the hand. It comes with a neck cord, a ring for attaching it to a bag and a piece of sandpaper for working the patina, so each piece becomes unique.

About the brand

Brass that keeps the marks of time

YSTUDIO was born in Taiwan in 2012 as a small two-person studio. It designs and makes writing instruments and desk objects in Taiwan, built on the idea that simplicity in design is of great value.

In the Brassing series, solid brass is coated in black paint that wears away with daily use to reveal the metal beneath. Each piece takes on the marks of the person who uses it.
